About TMOG
Pastor Cobb prayed for months in his attempt to analyze the heart of God and receive revelation concerning God’s plan for his life at that moment. He felt the pull into another dimension of his calling. After careful consideration and deliberation with men and women of wisdom, God led him to plant a church in the Mesquite, TX area.
August 2002 The organizational meeting was held on August 30,2002 at Comfort Inn and Suites on Dalrock and I-30 in Rowlett,TX. There were 6 people who joined “Church On The Move” on that day. Pastor Cobb shared that part of the vision for the new church was to create a kingdom-minded church where this generation could express what God is doing in the earth realm. He shared his vision and passion to use unconventional methods for reaching others. Emphasis was placed on this statement, “Church On The Move” will be established and centered on the Word of God and exuberant praise and worship.
September 2002 The first worship service was held on September 15,2002 at the Plaza Theater in downtown Garland. The spirit of the Lord moved in such a powerful way. There were approximately 30 people at the first worship service.
October 2002 According to the divine providence of God, a door opened that allowed “Church On The Move” to share a facility with another church. The location was 11110 Garland Rd. in Dallas, TX. The facility sat 600 and contained 25 classrooms. “Church on the Move” experienced exponential growth and established some foundational aspects of the ministry.
May 2004 Due to the growth, the traffic of a growing ministry interfered with the ability to share facilities. Therefore, “Church on the Move” moved into our own space at 6500 Northwest Dr. in the Meadow Glen shopping center. God’s favor was evident here. We experienced growth, a depth in relationships within the ministry, revelation and prophetic insight. We had the opportunity now to establish ministries and outreach to the community.
December 2005 After a brief wilderness experience that strengthened the ministry the holy Spirit led “Church On The Move” to combine congregations under the pastorate of Craig L. Cobb. We moved into our current location at 1016 Pioneer Rd. and changed the name to “The Move Of Gilead.” God allowed us to experience growing pains as we turned the corner to focus in the direction of a “Kingdom Shift.”
Physiologically and psychologically, a child’s personality isn’t developed until after the first 5 years of their life. After our 5th year in existence, God has finally allowed the personality of this ministry and spiritual DNA to become evident. We are a church who knows who we are and what we have been called to do as we take the “balm of Gilead” to people, cities and nations. Our history speaks of transitions, victories and endurance. The next season of this ministry involves carrying out the purposes of God that lead to Kingdom establishment in the overflow anointing.
